WINE. I report on the wine industry for several trade magazines, covering numerous regions in Italy, France, Portugal, Austria, Greece, Romania, Israel, South America, Germany and Spain. I hold the Advanced Certificate in Wine & Spirits from the WSET, and am always looking to add to my travels and knowledge. Favorite grape: Cabernet Franc.
TRAVEL. Some of my wine travels include lifestyle & cultural travel, a beat I covered for The International Herald Tribune while living in Rome, Italy, and various guidebooks. City I can’t get enough of: Palermo.
HOME TURF. In and about New York City, I cover arts & culture, community development and property for The Wall Street Journal and amNewYork. My particular interest is historic preservation and community affairs … have subway map, will travel. Favorite topic: toss up between historic properties and photography.
I loved finding your piece on Shirin Neshat this morning as I went through The WSJ. She is a kind soul, and I love that someone so dainty makes such powerful art.
Thank you. She was so generous with her time and information–she made it easy to write about her. I’ll post something here soon.
Lana! Many thanks for the brief mention and the great piece about the literary East Village! We here at Tribes want to keep doing what we’re doing and we need great supporters and writers like you! Please feel free to give us a shout on our email and we’ll put you on our mailing list, etc, and maybe come by and talk to the “blind guy” Mr. Steve Cannon! http://www.tribes.org/ gatheringofthetribes@gmail.com
